Nov 19th, 2016Tonight I am enjoying a Chardonnay from the Central Coast of California. The 2014 Calera Chardonnay.
On the nose I get white peach, passionfruit, mandarin orange, citrus fruits, creamy vanilla, and oak.
The first sip and the first thing that hits you up front is the steely minerality, lemon curd, peach, cream brulee, pie crust, chamomile, chalk and wet flint rock.
There is sharp crisp acidity and a clean long finish. A nice clean Chardonnay that is very enjoyable.

I really liked this, but I've always had a soft spot for (well done) Cali chard. Ripe, nutty, some sweet butter, so so delicious
