Beautiful translucent colour, midway between dark red and cognac brown.
Not overly aromatic with some kirsch, raisins and dried prunes, good quality alcohol and a pinch of exotic, gingerbread spices. Fresh.
On the palate this is poised and perfectly balanced. Fruity, raisiny sweetness with kirsch cherries and prunes, gingerbread spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla & anise, dried mandarin peel.
Round & mellow with a hint of Yunnan tea tannins. Not sticky it overly sweet but with fresh, candied lemon acidity and a surprisingly long finish.
