Nose has dried blueberries, blueberry jam, mashed blackberry, sun scorched soil, wet green herbals and slight alcohol heat.
Palate has rich, ripe blackberry, ripe black cherry, cocoa powder, anise, dry sandy soil with mild tannins. Nice acidity, medium finish.
The 1/5 addition of Sagrantino is perfect, really adding some depth to the nose and palate. We still have a few of these, suggest holding until 2023+ for future bottles.
Blend of 80% Sangiovese / 20% Sagrantino.
