Leather and dried fruit with a healthy tannic structure. A rich, broad and developed representation at this point and drinking mature.

Dark fruit, old leaves, and some oak that is well integrated and adds creamy texture. Plus it’s got enough ecidity to be practically gulpable. Such a pleasure to drink. Goes with anything north of shellfish.

This feels like a beautifully aged Nerello mascalese. Tastes like rich mellowed fruit with old leaves still with substantial alcohol and a sharp aftertaste. Feels like fall in a bottle. Probably even better with a few more years.

Succulent red fruit, tar, wet leaves, tobacco, tingling minerality, and charcoal finish, delicate tannins. Outstanding value.

When the waiter seemed disappointed in my wine choice, I knew I had made the right decision...Last nt at the impressive but excessively expensive 💵 Four Seasons redo called #TheGrill, hiding within the #wine list was this fairly priced gem: leather-scented, savory '06 #Calabretta Nerello Mascalese from #Etna #Sicily. Lesson: MEMORIZE the phrase "#MountEtna" as a top defense🛡against expense-account💰 priced wine lists.🍷⚡️

Phenomenal, classic Nerello Mascalese. Singing at 11 years with lots of fruit still but nice leather, tobacco, moss notes. Feeling fresh and young still, it has a long way to go.

Juicy, earthy, knock your socks off leathery finish. How is a 2008 so cheap? No brainer.

Beguiling nose reminds me of spraypaint - but then reveals a dark, jammy cherry almost like marmelade, dark chocolate. Very interesting wine and cracking pairing with chicken tagine.
