Cakebread Cellars
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Started out as an 8.9 and just keeps getting better the longer it breathes.

Dec 7th, 2015Best cake read for me on years, definitely on the upswing of late quality wise.

Jan 1st, 2014Very nice! 1hr+ decant. Dark red color. Prime drinking time. Nose has dark cherries, coconut, and cedar. Wine is deep and extremely smooth. Medium finish. Classic Napa Cab!

Nov 26th, 20211hr+ decant. Medium red color. Started out great but faded fairly quickly. Had an initial resemblance to good Bordeaux but ended up more like the ‘10 Domaine Eden Cab. Lacked some fruit and was high in tannins, acidity, and tartness. Ironically it went well with smoked pork chops. Definitely past prime.

Jun 27th, 2021We had this on 4/30/19. Dark purple in color. Blackberry and leather on the bouquet. Blackberry l, boysenberry and mocha on the palate. Smooth mouth feel. Full bodied. A beautiful aged wine; tannins were all smoothed out.

May 2nd, 2019Bold and fruity w some layers. Super thick. Plenty of time left on this one. Drinking well now, probably will be amazing in 5 more years or so.
