Had an itch for Sangiovese and found this to be a perfect foil to that hankering. Haven’t had any of these in a long time but was impressed with this bottling. Its upfront, lively with just enough weight, the Sangiovese varietal character drives the wine, while the CS really just offers some mid-palate juice and length. Leather, dusky red cherry and plum fruit, raspberry, rustic oak, spice. The oak tannin seem a touch rough, something I’ve seen in new large format barrels before, curious the % of new puncheon here. Being critical, it lacks length, but being a casual drinker, its a great take on the Super Tuscan style and has plenty of deliciousness to it.

Cab, Merlot, Sangiovese blend. Very thin. Apple skin, blood mineral, olive pit. Surprisingly bland, I had higher expectations.

Has the Orange/brick color of Sangiovese. It's ok. Black fruit.

Little aftertaste. Probably needed more time to breathe.

One of my favorite wines, it wasn’t cheap though.

Just okay. Light bodied Sangio blend. Put on weight with air. I drank with my brother who is a big Tool fan, so he really dug it. The more I think about it I think it is cool too.

Awesome. Didn't realize you could find a terrific Italian-blend in Arizona!
