Outrageous pure cherry on the nose. Best cherries of a bowl of cherries. Unreal spice and florals. Rose petals from heaven. Stunning. What a palate. Superb concentration and purity with a psycho mineral wash. So complex and deep. Amazing depth and persistence. Really really brilliant wine. And it’s just opened. The class of 18 and Monvigliero shine through here. Wow the florals on the nose are just insane. Pure, fresh rose petals. Unreal sweetness and concentration but elegant and light as a feather. Nimble yet large scaled. What a finish. A knockout. Sick wine. Let’s see what air does. Nose is cherry jolly rancher now. Cherry flower. Pollen. Palate is sweet cherry velvet. Perfect tannins. Awesome. Long and super pure. Incredible stuff. Nose has crazy elite spice now as well after 3+ hours of air.
9.5 to 9.6 overnight there is an ethereal perfume that is cherry focused but under that age divine incense aromas. It’s utterly profound. The palate is so sweet and silky with bright red cherries that are perfectly ripe with such fine, nimble and sweet tannins.

2nd bottle in less than a month as first was ok not great. Nose is classic cherries and tar. Very soft and has good breadth. But I smell alcohol. Spice. A bit broad and has breadth. Weird combo. Palate is juicy but the 15% alcohol is not working for me. It’s hot. It’s got great fruit, length, purity and balance. Too bad. First vintage I’ve missed. 13/14/14 were all brilliant.

Jan 29th, 2021Gorgeous nose. Just insane. Cherries like you would not believe. Roses. Tobacco. Some tar. So utterly classic. Mint. Menthol. So so floral. Just a gorgeous aroma. Enveloping and nuanced. Spices after 10 minutes. Always evolving. Palate is complex, concentrated and pure. Really balanced with lovely velvety, ripe tannins. Nose shows pure strawberry after some more air. Terrific freshness and really elegant but also substantial tannins and structure. Needs age. Long. Great fruit. But man is this toothsome.

Fresh, vibrant and full of minerality and terrific inner mouth perfume. No rush but the good 14’s are so terrific now. Long.

Palate is Very silky and elegant. Not super structured. Almost lilac juice with super elegant cherries. Some density on the finish. As it opens more density and licorice.

N: Very balsamic, notes of wood, brandied cherries, forest, dark , tarry scents.Chocolate. Some earth.
P: Prominent acidity, tannins resolved, cherries, carries it’s 15° well, no trace of heat. It’s brown in the best way. A bit gossamer.
