Big tannins accompany big acidity. Begs for pesto pork meatballs and herb baked vegetables. Is it weird that after opening and allowing to breath, its aroma reminds me of men’s Brut aftershave splash?? There’s a distinct menthol perfume going on here. Not sure it makes me want to drink it, but it’s Barolo

Wow. Big fan. Lots of bright red fruits like cherries and raspberries in the beginning. Great acidity. It is more earthy than I expected, but not unwelcome. I really appreciated the almost floral/rosy note that contrasts the brightness off the bat. Still pretty tannic, I imagine this would only get better with age. Tasted expensive. I have no clue how much it costs. Only improved with time/air as we ate dinner. Super cool to taste how it “opened up” and how it changed.

Blueberry, blackberry, strawberry. Very flavorful. Medium-light finish. Lighter barolo. Very good with lofi pizza for dad, Elissa, and me. Would be higher score if stronger finish.

Well balanced at this stage. Still a good amount of fruit there.

Outstanding. Be sure to decant. This has a lot of time left. A formidable wine.
