66/18/16 blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon blanc and muscadelle. Still assessing but love the length of fruit flavors (apple, peach-apricot, lemon with a touch of grassiness), dryness and acidity on this. Slightly bitter and mineral finish. Well balanced, perfect with my fresh garden beefsteak tomato and mild Hatch Chile salsa pizza (yeah, it should be a hotter Hatch, but you work with what you got). WA state does well with the Sauv-Sém blends and this one is on point for structure and varietal expression. Just crisp enough to work

Medium gold. Toasty, combination of orchard and white pit fruits. Long, dense and yet fresh. I think the SB and Muscadelle are leading the nose and the Semillon the structure. Too bad this is my last bottle as it was delicious.

60% Semillon, 22% Sauvignon Blanc, 18% Muscadelle. Yellow in color. Floral and grass notes in nose. Rich, grass and lemon notes in mouth, lactic and citric finish, with some apricot, lemon, minerality and skin astringency in aftertaste. Stays crisp, not at all flabby, rounded mouthfeel but seems less alcoholic than percentage listed. Somewhat more complex and fruity than most WA state Semillons and Sauvignon blancs I've tasted. Worthy pour.

Good but not as good as the 2011 I've previously had. This vintage emphasizes the weight of Semillon over the nerve and aromatics of SB. It should age well and may improve dramatically.

Full bodied; almost no aroma; very muted flavor; some white grapefruit and mineral; very subtle white flower; no acid; not very well balanced

Recently, I received word from Nina Buty (pronounced: Beauty) that she is closing down her family’s winery. Sad news, indeed. Buty had long been one of my favorite Walla Walla makers. Her reds are amazing, and her Bordeaux-style white blend is top-notch, too. Long lasting flavors of ripe peach, crisp apple and lemon zest, along with a note of grassiness are all rounded and balanced in this delicious white wine. It pairs so well with fish, salads and light cheeses. Easy and drink and to love.
