Really bad. I dumped it down the drain. Astringent on the front. Not much tannic structure. Leaves an aftertaste of St Joseph’s Children’s aspirin. Bear in mind 2011 was a very rainy cold year, and it ruined a lot grapes. So this bottle is not representative of other Burrell School vintages.

Deep ruby color. Aromas of black cherry, cigar box and baking spices. Black fruit juices, tobacco and black tea finish. High tannins, loads of sediment. Make your teeth purple.

2007 opened 2017. The cork had started to deteriorate, so I was worried that it might be off, but it was not only unspoiled but it was wonderful. Earth tones and leather on the nose. It was fully mature, though, and it wasn't going to get any better -- at least in this bottle. Minimal fruit but lovely soft tannins across the palate. The deteriorating cork may have matured it prematurely, though. I'd like to try a bottle with a pristine cork to see if any fruit and edginess remains in this vintage after a decade.

A little sharper on the finish with not a lot of depth to the finish. Still very good. Maybe needs another year or two in the bottle to bring out the detail.
