Buena Vista Winery
Chateau Buena Vista Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Nose of sweet cherries, currants, blueberries, light cedar, earth, herbs, milk chocolates, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with sweet cherries, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, herbs and spices.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa valley. Elegant and easy drinking. Fruit forward and complex.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent.
Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.
A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (30% new) French oak barrels for 24 months.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$40.

Light to medium ruby in color with a nose of cherries and cedar. A bit more on the red fruit side, with a touch of raspberry. Feels a bit thin for a Cabernet. Definitely more on the lighter to medium-bodied side. Finish is short lived. Came in last when compared to Stags Leap Artemis and Beringer Knights Valley. I would have expected a little more for the price.

This is a very enjoyable wine. I look at this as an approachable Napa Valley wine, ideal for drinkers who are looking for approachable Napa without the heaviness that many associate with Napa Valley. This wine has some very good oak flavors that you don’t have to search for, but are not overwhelming which puts many drinkers off. Overall the wine is medium a overall body with nice long oak characteristics. The finish does have a touch of a spice likely coming from the barreling and is welcomed

Tonight’s #PandemicPick (#PP)For the money @$25, this is a great wine. Full bodied, nice balance of fruit and secondary characteristics; not boring. Good mouthfeel. Overdelivers. CA Château started by a ....Hungarian Count. Father of CA wine industry no less. 🙌🏻

Ruby with aromas of red berry fruits, floral and herb notes. On the palate flavors of raspberry and red plum with cacao, herbs, vanilla spice and cedar. Rustic fine tannins, medium+ length with a spicy finish. Good now. Tasting Sample!

Aug 7th, 2025Deep ruby in color; blackberries, cassis, and graphite on the nose; high acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like black plums, black cherries, and eucalyptus with a long finish. Nellie likes this wine, and I do, too.

Enjoyable light Cab Sav, heavy aromas of cherry on the nose, not as robust and heavy/chewy as most Napa Cabs, but still a solid finish once it fully opens up.
