No hard edges and drinks with a nice subtle balance. Great value wine.

2012 vintage. Nose is very ordinary plums and wet stones. On the palate classic dark fruit and cassis with firmish tannins. Finish is a bit abrupt and a hint metallic. Likeable enough.

Velvet tannins. Fruit forward. Approachable and easy to down. But with enough complexity to make me take it seriously. Emma Stone of cabs.

Backup bottle just in case the ‘01 Newton didn’t want to play ball. This is a really solid Cab that exhibits notes of blackberries, plums, creme de cassis, and baking spices. On the palate suave tannins that can stand only a little further integration, but don’t detract from the present drinking experience. Brooding dark fruits, Luxardo cherries, and blackberry cobbler on the palate without being overtly jammy or extracted. I think this wine is balanced nicely and will only improve in the coming years.

This was a very pleasant surprise recommendation. Subtle but strong. Great accompaniment to the lamb. Would get this again!
