Great Barolo, in barolo, tight as fuck, would love to have had a couple hours with this wine, oh well, so many more wines to see, too little time.

Fantastic, but hold for 5 more years.

Aromatics are off the charts. Asphalt, violets, fresh squeezed berry juice. Tight, youthful tannins despite a brickey appearance. Wowowowow

This was amazing after an hour in the decanter. Giacosa did well with this hot vintage. None of that common over ripe balsamic notes that are many Piedmontese wines of 2005 display. Bright red fruits and dried cranberries, anise, slight menthol and smokey tar. The length was remarkably long. Heaven

Wow - so much to find on the gorgeous nose on this one - classic Barolo notes but just deeper and more elegant. Just a glass to explore and not enough time! Clearly miles to go in bottle and needs plenty of air to show!

18. the nose announces a rich, complex wine. It’s complete, too, and very long. The first of 6 bottles - hard not to have another soon.

Silky cherry & floral aromatics. Medium weight, but loads of power. Structured, but not to the extent of 04 or 06. Staggeringly long & balanced power with elegance. Benchmark Barolo.
