Boulder Block Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir

Wow, the very last bottle in Higgins cellar. it was shy at first, quiet and understated. We thought for a second maybe the best years were in the past but we were rewarded with an example of the the beauty of Oregon Pinot Noir. As it opened up the layers of secondary notes took the forefront and the subtle gave way to a deeply complex wine, where the dance between vintage and winemaker had given way to vineyard and the knowledge to just let the wine be what it wanted to be. Smooth and still young. Drank at Bill & Nicole's

From magnum. Lots of fruit and concentration. Really shows the vintage.

Joan Crawford in a bottle. Strong shoulders, sexy, lean and a lil' mean...a complex pinot.

Last time I drank this was before I started using Delectable, so it was at least five years ago. Back then it was downright jammy, grape candy. It’s still yummy and decadent at 10, not nearly as jammy, almost mellow, almost dry, silky tannins, kinda tart finish...

This is what I expect from great Pinot in Oregon. Hints of dried blueberry, strawberry, clove on the nose. Bright cherry, cinnamon and clove on palate

Great bottle of Pinot Noir, been laying down at 55 since '07, what a treat!
