Tannic, enjoyed the different notes opening as it breathed from plum, cherries, and various spices. Memorable tannins and finish.

Cuvaison: Beautiful seated outdoor tastings overlooking pond and vineyards. This was the only drinkable pour but we'll probably visit again just for the views.

Deliciously silky with dark berry and plum fruit. Production is under 500 cases.

More intensity of fruit. Very polished with nice oak notes.

I have been trying Napa Valley Bordeaux and so far I have been disappointed. This Cabernet-driven wine, like the Merlot-driven Hudson Bordeaux, appears to be made to be as strong and intense as possible, with no regard to bringing out subtle flavors. It starts out slightly sweet followed by intense acidity and alcohol. This wine will last for years, perhaps centuries (LOL), but it will never be as flavorful as an authentic Bordeaux at the same ~ $70 price.

Big bodied, sumptuous red that pairs with red meat.

Oak and leather on nose. Full, dry, balanced, very approachable now. Currants, cocoa, blackberries.
