Served with Fisherman’s Pasta - sablefish, mussels, saffron gnocchetti pasta, fennel, fresh baguette toast. One whiff of the nose and this couldn’t be anything other than GC white burgundy. Powerful notes of caramel popcorn, tropical fruit, marshmallows, and nuts. Fabulous acid that one might find more typical in Chablis. This was almost a shock to the system but let’s be honest, I don’t typically get to drink Montrachet…but I could get used to it. This almost seemed young.

Lime green in color. Lovely and fresh. Bright limestone and lucid citrus. Floral notes. Refined and focused and long.

Light gold. Broad and lush and open. Quite subtle. Hints of mint, corn and yellow flowers. Lean in to hear it.

Wine No. 6 in the white Grand Cru lineup. Lemon citrus with a wet stone character on the nose. Delicious lemon/grapefruit notes on the palate but riper than that, with some complexity coming through even at this young age. Interesting. Bouchards plot of Montrachet is sandwiched between DRC and Ramonet.

Quite full, oaken and ripe but a great showing. Clean aromatics and dense flavors, without question shows the richness of the vintage but fresh and engaging

Ahhh, and breathe. Not premoxed! A gorgeous expansive nose but under control. Rock pool, lime, steel at the top of the palate but lovely poised depth in the middle. Very fine, broad and detailed. Probably too young but sooo classy.

Probably the best wine I’ve ever had with a smoked salmon sandwich. And crisps. In an airport.

Superbly delicate nose of stone fruit and citrus with hints of fresh almonds and pollen. Lovely line of acidity cutting through a light yet complex palate. Very long.

Advanced though not without some intrigue. There is a beautiful wine beneath the oxidative notes.
