Popped and double decanted to remove some sediment. Very earthy nose, with a pleasantly sweet barnyard note, goes along with some ripe, oozing cherry fruit. A little limestone minerality too. Tighter and more youthful in the mouth than I expected, with tight cherry fruit and lots of acid and stony minerality. Some not-quite-soft tannin too. A slight bitter note on the tail end of the finish. Probably should have waited a few years but it’ll be nice with the simmering coq au vin.

Its got the flavour but it’s underwhelming in how light it is. Good Pinot noir. Not good burgundy.

Super smooth like most French wines I run into. I like it but not my favorite pinot especially at the price point. Maybe just not quite my style.

This is an excellent wine that is very affordable, at least in Beaune France. To bad the program identified it as a Chardonnay. It is most definitely a red.
