Beaune du Château 1er Cru Chardonnay

Really well balanced at 7 years of age. Not overtly oaked or big. Just clean, elegant and delicious.

Typical Brettanomyces upfront. Wet barnyard aromas. Blows off quickly. Cherry sweet tarts.

Blend of 5 premier cru vineyards in Beaune. My kind of Chardonnay. Amazing finish.

Lemon shortbread, dried apricot, butterscotch, toast and chalk. Texture/aroma/flavor suggests time on lees, malo, plus some portion of new oak. Full body, elevated aromatic and flavor intensity.

Nice enough but no wow factor. Plain Jane from Spain

Great Burgundy found at s good price at the Vancouver airport duty free store! Paired with Thomas Keller's ratatouille recipe. Delicious!

Not my favorite. Perhaps just an overly oaked / buttery style for my taste, but my real issue is that this just does not feel balanced. A bit flabby with the butter really standing out.
