Les Macherelles Cuvée Signature Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

Toasted coconut, some tropical notes, lightly caramelized banana, light mango, and over ripe peach.

A premier cru, this wine is a bit more one-dimensional than I was expecting. A good wine - medium bodied, good balance, and a focused finish - but I bet the 2012 that we had wanted (didn't have it) would have been better.

Pale straw appearance. Full nose. Ripened green fruit at nose. Great draw back. Subtle finish. I know this is the real deal in whites- but I am getting a hint of butter. Not CA crazy cream, but the finish presents some butter that really reveals the other flavors of the wine.

Smooth, long finish, hint of butter. Excellent chard, especially with the seafood tower at Ruth's Chris.
