Initially I thought this is going to be a disappointment, but once it breathed for a good solid hour, it was a totally different experience. Nice earth and oak. Like texture, but enough tannins to go well with the hearty steaks we grilled.

Pretty nice Carneros Pinot. Dusty , slightly smokey bouquet. Thick skinned grapes, deep blackberry and pomegranate , oaky-earthy undertones. Really nice fresh poured, but decant for 45 minutes for the full effect.

Because... France met California and made baby grapes! Excellent. Bouchaine Pinot Noir 2007. Sitting in my cellar a year or two, excellent fruit mixed with great earthy notes. A great mix of old and new worlds.
