This started off a little awkward but with time in decanter filled out and became really good. Some dark fruit. Quite savory with iron, brambles, some fresh herbal notes and a brooding chave-like minerality. Wood fully resolved and a slightly tart Sour cherry note. With time in decanter this becomes more and more fleshed out and integrated. By the end lovely and poised. Quite cold-blooded but with really pure fruit. Quite light and translucent for an Unico.., almost burg like in character. Really lovely savory, lean intense stuff.

Jul 14th, 2017Wonderful. A beautifully balanced nose. Cherry compote, a hint of mushroom. Great balance and length. Like an aged Cheval Blanc. Great stuff. Over time, notes of pomegranate, plum and damson. Beautiful. Just right now- will hold like this for another decade I'd guess
