The initial perfumed nose led me to think I might have a lighter fresher Toro, but after an hour it turned to true Toro form: rich and powerful. Ripe dark fruits, pine cone, dark chocolate, steeped black tea, and hint of dried mushroom. Barely enough acidity to carry the thick full body. Impressive bitter sweet long finish.
Untamed and hot, but fun. Not sure aging will settle it down a bit.

Super dark color, with purple on the cork. Intense black currant on the nose, with a hint of sweet. Medium tannins are still grippy, yet soft. Cedar and black currant flavors upon opening. $10 at Village Corner.

You can smell the high alcohol content in this one. Fruity, bright, and spicy in the nose. Wow, intense with coffee, chocolate, spice, and dark fruit. Good tannins, and thick going down. Lingering finish.

Big, extracted, fruit forward wine with dense, chewy tannins. Opens up the longer it is in the glass. Appears unfiltered, with significant sediment.

Deep purple and medium body. Not overly fruity. Paired well with homemade Italian. Overall pleasant.
