Bodegas Tritón

Old Vines Tinta de Toro 2014

Triton Tinta de Toro is the oldest clone of Tempranillo in Spain, located in the only Spanish D.O. that completely resisted the phylloxera plague. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, sweet spice and earthy notes, aged in oak for six months. On the palate flavors of blackberry and ripe plum with licorice and earthy notes. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and earthy spice character. — 2 years ago

Avante Castilla y León Mencía 2009

One of my favorite grapes, Mencia is sometimes dull and boring. This one is bright and nuanced and complex with a great finish of chocolate, leather and berries. It was also a great deal at my local wine shop — Brands Wine — 11 years ago

Tinta de Toro Tempranillo 2014

You can smell the high alcohol content in this one. Fruity, bright, and spicy in the nose. Wow, intense with coffee, chocolate, spice, and dark fruit. Good tannins, and thick going down. Lingering finish. — 4 years ago
