Made in a small town at foot of Sierra Cantabria in the DO. A single variety Tempranillo from 50 year old vines has a deep Ruby red color and aged for 18 months in French and American oak. Aromas of red fruit and spice. On the palate ripe black fruit, fine tannins, well balanced with a medium+ finish ending with fruit, spice and some oak notes. Nice!

Vintage 2012 / Breathtaking smell. Plums. Cherries. Vanilla. Cinnamon. Really charming. But then I sipped the wine and I got a hit in the face. Sóóó extreme powerful and with high bitters. The wine shows it potential but I should put it away for another 3 to 5 years. #rioja

Cherry raspberry tar with tobacco nose. Hint of rosemary spice. Dark burnt raspberry forward flavors with licorice midmouth tastes. Astringently pleasant aniseed finish. A fruity and lighthearted gem from my Madrid trip. Love!

Made in a small town at foot of Sierra Cantabria in DO. A single variety Tempranillo from 50 year old vines has a deep red color aged for 18 months in French and American oak. Had another bottle in my cellar and decided to have something special. Dark red fruit aromas with licorice and spice notes. On the palate a lots of fruit, cherry and blackberry, subtle spice, round fine tannins well balanced with a long finish ending with some oak notes. Perfect now.

This is some serious juice for $40. Enticing florals of leather, flower petals, grilled meat, cigar box, anise, and vanilla on the nose. The pallet is deep and concentrated, full of defined layers - exhibiting notes of dark cherries, casis, more leather, licorice, and bell pepper. Made from 50 year old vines, and aged 18 months in American and French Oak, produced by Jorge Ordoñez. This was fantastic with grilled lamb, but believe it or not it was amazing with baklava of all things!

Whoa- the finish is still lingering! Brick red, and the red roar of such pretty, ferocious fruit. Acid & tannins @ at a good spot- does not feel out of balance. Such a long, long finish. A monster, but felt right time to drink. Short decant like the CVNE
