On to the reds. Tasted blind. Deep reddish tawny color.. Black fruit, earth, spice, some camphor. Seems old. Debate turns to is this a right bank Pomerol or maybe Rioja? It's an 80+ year old Rioja, in amazing condition. This was a late release (2021) from the Domaine, procured from RWC. Really great experience.

Surprisingly I expected this to be tight. But it was ready. In fact a hint of pirate rum on the nose at open which blew off. Perhaps not much left in the tank here. But very pleasant and great with our meal.

One of a number of middle aged gran reservas last night. This was a little underwhelming given the vintage. Still a pleasant, almost Burgundian drink with hints of cherries, pasted peppers, and good acidity. Perhaps a little volatility creeping in.

I really like this one. Not a particularly heavy body or bouquet. But it is very balanced red. Finished nicely on pallet. Very drinkable without interfering. Currant is the only flavor I’m pulling
