A great wine, but wasn't quite the same as drinking it with the Muga family at la Batalla del Vino...

Gosh this is good. Pure, big, but not overly so.

2004 is beautiful and aging nicely. Very youthful. Very dark fruit and anise on the nose. The palate is similar with loads of dark fruit, anise, tobacco and cocoa powder. Very big, modern Rioja.

2004 needs a few more years. Sunny, tannic, peppers and ripe plums. Med-light mouth, finish is still mostly tannic and leather. Bears repeating: needs more years. Put it in your cellar and forget it till 2018
