Rounded light dark fruit. No really, that's a thing. A bit thin, but pleasantly drinkable. Quite tasty, in point of fact. Curious to see if it gets more or less complex as it opens.

On special for $15. More subtle than other rioja but a nice blend of oak, berry and vanilla

Rioja that says reserva but wasn't up to reserva standards. Tasted better on second day but that's like eating a meal and then realizing the next day it was good.

Nose primarily of leather, toasty wood notes, a hint of vanilla, cherry fruit and spiced plum. So what thin of the palate with drying tannins and medium + acidity

Old school Rioja. Austere, tight, black fruit, peppery notes, drying tannins. Should've had it with food. $10.

Cranberry, pomegranate and tart red fruit with some oak. Good acid in the finish. Good value wine.
