Drank 3/23/20. Excellent with grilled pork loin.
American oak evident, with sawn lumber and vanilla supporting dark fruit and baking spices. On the palate red and black fruits, with cherry, red currant, black currant, vanilla, and leather, which are backed by medium +, well integrated tannins. Fairly long finish. Insane QPR here as this wine cost just under $10 (Costco). Buy it if you can find it. A great representation of typical, old school rioja for the price.

Mar 24th, 2020An excellent Rioja Reserva, found at Costco, and a steal for the price! Begins with copious aromas of dried cherries & fig, alongside subtle tobacco & woodsmoke notes. Continues with a smooth and approachable palate with light-med tannins and flavors of black cherry & roasted tomato with notes cocoa on the finish. Paired quite nicely with homemade roasted artichoke pizza. ($12) [12/29/21]
