Dark gripping tannins, fresh and earthy. Gorgeous classic Rioja. Cool ceramic bottle too.

This is killer, so much fruit overflowing its well appointed frame best wine I've had in a minute.

One of the best wines I have tasted in the last 30 days together with the Abadia Retuerta one. Cherry and Star anise on the nose. Juicy Dark Cherry, Plum fruit, Vanilla and the right amount of Oak to make it flavorful with an elegant finish.

Celebrating my 1990 bottles arriving. Really hit its stride after an hour. Baking spices, saddle leather, black tea, tarragon, and kirsch, all wrapped in a blanket of old world, brett-tinged funk.

.The wine is a blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo. After fermentation it ages aged for 28 months in oak barrels. Then it matures in the Bodegas' cellar, softening to a silken smoothness and taking on immense complexity. The wine is a youthful cherry red in the glass, it has a ruddy edge belying it's age and character. The bouquet is aromatic and complex, Spanish flavors of spice, earth and leather framed by a background of ripe fruit and jam. Impeccably balanced and silky smooth tannins as one would expect in a wine from the terrific 2001 vintage in Rioja! With a short decant (30-60) minutes, this wine is drinking terrific right now. 40$-50$ CAN
