La Plazuela Cencibel Garnacha Blend
La Plazuela is the name of the old family winery (from 1851) located at the “plazuela de la iglesia” (the small square, next to the church), with the old amphoras and where the wine is aged. The wine is 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha from 80 year old bush vines. Aging for 15 months in new French oak. Deep red with dark fruit aromas with cedar notes. On the palate black cherry flavors with espresso and cacao notes, firm tannins on a well balanced structure. The finish ends with oak tones, about medium.

Oct 20th, 2016Chocolate-y violet nose with mushrooms graphite and plum. The chocolate continues on entry, resinous and herbaceous, bright mint, rose petal, violets, silky tannins, cola, black cherry, black plum. Impressive muscle in a satin shroud. Sexy.

Fruit is gone, tannins are a bit austere. Overall has a nice complexity, all tertiary: leather, balsamic, sappy, black olives, cedar and a touch of lavender. Oak, lots of oak. Drink now.

Jun 21st, 2016Incredible! Fruit exploding everywhere. Intense deep color and incredible legs. Plum, licorice and black cherry. This is one of the best wines I've had the pleasure to drink in years. Will serve it out to add to my cellar. If you see this one please try it.
