It sort of pushes everything wine related a bit further. 2012 vintage is simply stunning! Not built for everyone and "purists" should stay away.

M+ intensity. Sour cherry, plum, jammy, spice, forest floor, bittersweet chocolate, herbs and tea leaves. M- acid, M body and round tannin. Wild cherry and sweet bramble. Beautifully balanced.

High alcohol, but hey, who's complaining? What a treat.

100 points? Yes, I believe so! Amazing energy, huge structure and much more elegant than any previous vintage, this is a complete home-run by the El Nido team. Complete admiration from my side. Sincere thanks!

A big boy with tannins not afraid to show. No decanter, but opened three hours before drinking. Velvet on the front then piercing towards the back. While the flavors that do come out are strong and balanced, it's one dimensional with the overdone alcohol. Still, good wine.

Killed a baby. So rich, ripe, and jammy. It's going to be delicious in 7 or 8 more years.

Opens up in the glass, with plush, soft black and red berry fruit, pencil led, graphite, and hints of oaked vanilla. Palate is firm, without noticeable heat (15.5% ABV). Finish is driven with blackberry fruit, well integrated oak. You can drink now with a decant but this will cellar well.
