Cannot and will not recommend but had it and needed to drink so did - wife likes but not me - so this is a combined score - Lips are turned up slightly for a brief but unsustainable smile - ph well - breaking out the shot glass for a scotch

Medium ruby with some garnet hues. High intensity nose with leather, animal and cigar notes shooting out of the glass. Opens up with some dark cherries and bitter cocoa. Moderate savory tannins (6/10) with a little bit of heat. Sour cherries on the palate with a medium body. Very dry long finish. A little bitter too. Nice and complex nose, only downfall is the bitterness in the finish. Drink till 2018.

Tried this again about a year later, big difference. Ruby Color, Dark fruit aromas with spicy scents. The palate shows red fruits and wild blackberries fruit flavors. This 100% Monastrell red, aged for 10 months on American oak shows fine tannins, high acidity and some mineral and earthy notes on the finish. A bit smoother after a year. Good value.

Great monastrell.. 25% Syrah. Nice nose of blackberry, tar, and roast meats.. Body is supple and inviting.

Decent, daily red. Bit of spice that lingers, tannins moderate. 2009 was better

Good intensity, some raisin mixed in with redder fruit. Tannins still not tamed

Pretty good. I won't put it on my personal "wish list" though because it has an acid bite.
