Jan 20th, 2021In a much better place than 18mos ago. Loads of cassis on the nose and a lot of earth on the palate. Fine tannins. Quite masculine. Someone said it best: Catena on the front and Lafite on the back. Pretty much right.

Feb 22nd, 2020Popped and poured; consumed over two days. Best on Day 2 IMO. Creme de cassis, tobacco, cherry liqueur, earth. Substantial but fine tannins. Medium acid. Long finish. Come across a touch hot.

Sep 25th, 2018On the nose, fruits are brighter than the two previous wines, ruby, a little candied and ripe. Blackberries, black raspberries, black cherries, hues of blueberries, light tarry notes, mocha, light caramel, vanilla, light cinnamon, dry top soil, stones, nice soft spice and dark red, blue and purple florals.
On the palate; the body is full and rich. The tannins are thick, chewy, sticky and loaded with dust. The fruits are ripe; blackberries, black raspberries, black cherries, hues of blueberries, cherries, strawberries, light tarry notes, mocha, light caramel, vanilla, light cinnamon, dry clay, used leather, dry top soil, dark moist soil, some fresh tobacco, stones, nice soft spice and dark red, blue and purple florals. The acidity is round and nice. The finish is; elegant, well balanced, round, ripe with better texture than the Aruma & the Petit.
