Drank 2/2/21.

Excellent with seared pork chops and a pan sauce.

Nose of sawn lumber, dill, spice, and red cherry. Flavors of red cherry, leather, and pomegranate are backed by medium tannins. Finishes medium with juicy red fruit. Very nice.

This very dark wine has such a rich nose it’s almost enough just to smell it. Almost. Aromas of black currant and blueberries are colored up nicely by all the oak. Clove notes are sweet and - incredibly - not overpowering. The palate is brawny and full of dark fruit. It’s loaded with minerals and acidity and firm tannins - just waiting for an unsuspecting ribeye to come along.

It’s...decent. Drinkable, good but not great. E joyed it well enough, nice smack of dark fruit, but still a bit sharp.

OHMYGODILOVETHIS. New favourite, so rich and Christmassy, nice and savoury so it’s not overwhelming, drinking this TOO quickly. Almost smells like port, but with earthiness.

Enjoyable Rioja and it was fun to go back to this Tempranillo that we haven’t had in a while. All lead pencil shavings and dark currents to start but then the tannins kick in and mellows at the same time. If you want to try a forward rioja for fun, this is what the wine is about.
