Savory cherry & smoke. Great mid-palate! Finish had nice length but lacked intensity a bit.

Deep maroon with a brown rim. Heavy nose of dark chocolate cherry chocolate centers. Licorice and leather. Full bodied. Long legs. All of the above show on the palate but licorice speaks just a but louder. A small amount of smoke too. Slight to medium tannin. Sat in the decanter for 2 hours while we dealt with the terrorists. 14%alc helps deal with toddler bedtime stress. Paired with a chorizo sausage and garlic stuffed olives. @momma_leslie needed ritz crackers on the board too. #nostalgiabigtime for a vacation to #europe

Lots of Rioja like earthy oak notes overpowering the wine. This was the 2008. I wonder if we had a bad bottle?
