Bodega Matías i Torres
Diego
God damn this is fucking cool 😎 Been wrapping my head around it all night. There’s this underlying smokey mineral tinge to the wine. On top, layers of ripe to almost canned peach and pineapple fruit, a hint of bruised golden apple/pear as well. Theres a slight honeyed note mixed in with toasted nuts on the finish. Palate is juicy and rich upfront then sheds away into an leafy and zippy finish. Quite dry actually despite its lush facade. Really hard to come up with laterals for this.

Mar 25th, 2018Unique white coming from young woman winemaker in the Canary islands. I found this to be pleasantly #smokey but not over #oaked . Expresses the #volcanicsoils very well but light and sharp at the same time! Interesting find! #canaryislands

1 person found it helpfulNov 30th, 2015A noticeable oxidative note, from the reading I have done, I don’t think it was on purpose. If it was though, not always my favorite thing. I might have to go buy another bottle and double check. @Delectable any chance you can update the designations? This is a Canary Islands wine from the appellation La Palma.

Nov 28th, 2019Very ashy and smoky, because the soil is volcanic. Very interesting.

Jul 19th, 2017Rated this 90 some months ago. Seems to be improving, a little less heat on the nose, and really showing interesting spice and mineral notes. Very good with food. Getting grumpy and I don't know why.
