Sentinel Oak Pyramid Block Syrah 2004

This bottling usually brings Cornas to mind, perhaps Colombo. Dark fruited with game, smoldering coals and baked clay. Decade or more ahead for this one. — 8 years ago

Domaine de la Terre Rouge

Monarch Mine Vineyard Roussanne 2008

Subtle nose of melons, preserved citrus and cashews. Round texture and good acidity that leave an impression of hot rocks on the long, phenolic finish. Entering its peak maturity. #volcanicsoils — 8 years ago

Unique white coming from young woman winemaker in the Canary islands. I found this to be pleasantly #smokey but not over #oaked . Expresses the #volcanicsoils very well but light and sharp at the same time! Interesting find! #canaryislands — 9 years ago

Sierra Foothills Grenache Blanc 2012

Out of sequence here, but worth throwing in the feed. Tough to pull off a Grenache Blanc like this with good acidity in the foothills. All about the elevation & poor soils. In a great space with a couple years ahead. — 8 years ago
