Crumbling Rock Red Blend
Cassis, cinnamon, truffle, and earth nose. Cassis, dried cherries, red currants, leather flavors and integrated tannins. Pretty enjoyable.

Apr 27th, 2020Medium to deep ruby red. Dirty attack on the nose with some earthiness, dusty, a touch vegetal, dried cherries, truffles and herbal. A little dark spices. Medium tannins (6/10) and medium to medium plus bodied. Savory on the palate, a little bit of dark berries, earthy, and a little green. Very dry with a medium plus finish. Drink till 2023.
Favorite Maryland Estate.

2006 Black Ankle Crumbling Rock Red Blend, Frederick County, Maryland. @blackanklevines Cab Franc, Cab Sauv, Merlot, Petit Verdot. Seductive with violet notes. Black cherry, plum and forest floor intertwined with cedar, baking spice, mocha dust. Soft and silky. Truly amazing. #wine #sommelier #mdwine

Attack was coated with dark fruits and a savory backbone. A little bit of vegetal notes too. Moderate tannins (6/10) with a moderate body. Very complex, rounded and enjoyable. Long and lingering finish. Very hard to decide which of their reds are the best. Drink till 2024.
