On the leaner side but generously oaked, the nose is quite lactic with barrel scents leading but some very nice, crisp fruit underneath. I’m hoping that as it airs the ratio will switch in favor of fruit. Very soft-textured, it’s toasty on the palate. Acids are soft. Again, id ideally like to see a bit more fruit and less oak. Will revisit/update these notes if there’s a significant change.

The fruit is very much the supporting cast on both the nose and palate. Beautifully nutty, savory, mineral-driven. Some lees and a little oak character adds further to the complexity. The fruit tends towards citrus and apple. Beautiful medium weight mouthfeel. Really fresh still for a 2016.

Puligny like structure. Taut citrus fruit with background flinty smoke. Extremely enjoyable now but guessing with time will put on more weight and will really be amazing

Apple and pear on the nose and pallet also very minerally with a lil butter but not overdone as I hate butter bombs but a quality chardonnay here very drinkable
