Fine grained texture, beautiful perfumed fruit and aromatics, vibrant, with strong underlying structure

What a surprise! This 2013 Big Basin (Alfaro) is excellent. So much different than, say, a Sonoma Coast or RRV Pinot. Exploding raspberry and spice, with just the right amount of funk.

representing a much richer forward Pinot.. Big contrast to the more recent vintages, which imo show more balance and depth.. Still good tho

Magnificent, strict, tightly wound fruit and youthfully, stalky tannins create a wonderfully aromatic lift and gets your full attention. Intense, light bodied and very long, this masterpiece will age gracefully. Might be my favourite US PN to date!

Big Basin is my new fave! Syrah 1st then GSM, now blown away by PN. Balanced for a fuller style with outstanding complexity and surprising grip. Fruit is solid with some earth and a woodsy quality. Fantastic
