14’ Bevan Wildfoote -Vixen. WNH- virtual tasting. Decanted for two hours. Consumed over the next three. Took more then a few hours for it to come around. I always hate it when the last glass taste better than the first. Beautiful wine. Sit on them for another couple of years. IMO

fully opaque, inky purple black, prominent glass staining tears; cassis, milk chocolate, vanilla, licorice, tobacco leaf, floral notes; full bodied, jammy black fruit, a bit hot, 14.8% AVV; sources from Vixen block of Wildfoote Vineyard owned a good long by former Screaming Eagle Vineyard owner Jean Phillips

Day 3 in Napa in the books! Running a day behind on notes...Napa time runs slow AND fast!
They are pulling this near Shafer’s Hillside Select block. Chocolate all over. Chocolate covered strawberries, black cherry, and baked graham cracker. Quintessential Stag’s Leap.

In preparation of Mr. Bevan’s visit to Linwood Later this month I decided it was appropriate to open this one. Soft supple great elegance perfectly balanced not hot. Vine ripened just picked strawberries. Well structured solid.

@David L So what do you drink once you’ve refreshes your palate?????!!! A truly over the top and opulent Cabernet so graciously provided by none other than David L! Love you my brother from another mother! You would be right at home with us this evening destroying these wines. See you soon my friend!! This wine needed 90 minutes to open up but once I did it became Godzilla!!!!!! You are too good to me, I owe you one buddy!

I’ve had the pleasure of having this wine several times, tonight it is firing on all cylinders! Seems to be drinking in the sweet spot. Excellent structure with resolved tannins. Fantastic!
