This afternoon I stopped at a fee wine stores looking for a nice wine to try tonight and I came upon the 2014 Betz Family Winery Clos de Betz Bordeaux Blend. I have been wanting to try the Betz wines for some time now and I finally pulled the trigger on this one. A blend of 71% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot.
This wine is beautifully complex on the nose with black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, vanilla, caramel, mocha and graphite.
The dark fruit continues through on the palate with black cherry, blackberry, plum, blueberry, black currant, vanilla, caramel, mocha and graphite.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth lush velvety mouthfeel. There is medium to + acidity and medium + rounded tannins that lead right to a long sweet dark fruit finish. A beautiful wine with many years of life to go. I am glad to have tried this and I will be off to purchase a few more bottles Have a wonderful rest of your week and please stay safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Deep nose of ripe dark fruits and fresh red fruits scented with mint, violet, black tea and incense. The luscious savory palate carries a broad spectrum of flavors. Full body disguised by well balanced structure that lends the wine a feminine side. Ultra smooth tannins.

71% Merlot, 19% Cab, 10% Petit Verdot. Cinnamon dusted plums across the palate with a racy, bright character on the mid palate. The nose is amazing with spicy dark fruit. Mild, chalky tannins finish it off. Great wine for Christmas Eve.
