Beringer Vineyards
Quantum Napa Valley Red Blend
Really liked this one. Big, structured, layered, and a little bite. Favorite wine of the night.

I knew exactly what I was getting. The wine is like a casino. An overly dramatic facade with the wine equivalents of slot dings and clanks and loungey jazz. It is really hard not to like, but I'm sure its pleasure will burn a quick wick. 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Merlot, Cab Franc, Petite Sirah, and Malbec. The majority of the fruit comes from Howell Mountain, and the depth shows, despite the generous oak treatment. Blackberry jam, cedar, chocolate truffle and ganache, brand new leather, with secondary mint leaf and espresso. This is a much better wine than The Prisoner, which seems like an appropriate price point for something like this.

May 17th, 2017This cab heavy blend has cab grapes coming from Howell Mountain. Not much to write home about on the first day, but coming alive nicely here in day 2. In the glass, mid purple color and surprisingly, fairly fast moving legs. The nose smells of baking spices and leather. On the tongue, Bing cherries, and black pepper spice.
Enjoy the circus, everyone. 🇺🇸

Dark in color and displays dark fruits on both the nose and the palate. Slightly grippy tannins but overall smooth and will go great with a cut of beef.
