Dec 26th, 2015This may be due to the age, but this port tastes almost more like brandy than traditional port. Our friend's mother found this bottle of 1984 vintage while cleaning her house, and we weren't really sure it would still be good. Luckily it had been stored well (and, well, it's port) so we lucked out. I really enjoyed the nutmeg and dried cherry notes, and it paired well with chocolate birthday cake and Costco's aged gouda.

Apr 3rd, 2016Smell of cherry, caramel, and vanilla. Medium to dark cherry in color, smooth tannin, however, the alcohol is way too pronounced which made the wine extremely unbalance.
