Near undrinkable wine - smelt very strongly of burnt rubber. Needless to say, my glass will not be emptied tonight

The only reason this gets 8.7 is because it’s aged 10 years and is (as the kinds would say) smooth af.

But! If it was off the shelf?

It would be a 8.4... no cap.

Dark plum colors and a viscous mouthfeel. Lots of fruity sweetness, but little in the way of tannin. One dimensional, casual. Okay.

A Beringers cab, a rib eye steak, and a Sunday night Packer game. Great berry scent on the nose. Taste of berry and oak, and a little vanilla . The finish was a bit too acidic for my taste, but otherwise a good compliment to the dinner.
