Beautiful nose with notes of dried plums, tobacco, leather and potpourri. On the palate it is obviously tired with flavors of dried cherries, raisins, forest floor and toasted oak. This is probably 5 or 6 years too old at this point but was fun to try.

A lovely mature wine. Nose of plums and secondary notes with stones and minerals and a bit of heat. Balanced on palate with primary fruits receded but lively still and good length. 14.1 ABV. Paired so well with Asian style short ribs. Good Acker auction buy again.

Voluptuous and rich on the palate, sweet tannins with some firmness, chocolate covered black cherries, plums, leather, kiss of herbaceous character. Unfortunately the alcohol sticks out a little for me on the nose.

Mildly frustrating in that the fruit has dropped off before the tannins are close to resolution. Still, a good risk at $30.
