I wanted to try another Hudson #syrah from the same vintage to contrast against the Keplinger. Similar fruit profiles, but very different winemaking. Where the Hangmans was rich, lush and open this is more tightly coiled. A little less alcohol, a touch more acidity, and a more savory wine with more meaty and iron notes. The Keplinger drinks great now but this wine should vastly improve and should really be something in about 10 more years.

Day 1 very muted both nose and palate, day 2 it shined. Still young, but the fruit really come through and shows amazing varietal character. This is gonna be awesome in 5 years.

In a weird place in my opinion. I see amazing potential. (Very well could be my mood). Violets, cotton candy, meatiness and dark red fruits on the nose. Suave, velvety texture of plush red fruits, flowers, and bacon fat on the palate. Maybe it's a little to suave for my liking tonight, i was wanting a little tension. I have several of these so I'm gonna revisit in 3-5 yrs.

Just a baby but exhibits a nice nose of spiced meatiness and a floral/violet note. Chewy, dark fruit, and bit gamey on taste. Time will reward this greatly. Fantastic stuff even in its youth.

Deep dark inky violet color with leather, roast meat, dark fruit, violet and a bit of spice aromas. On the palate it medium-bodied, dense, fresh and harmonious with vibrant blackberries, plum, cassis, black cherry, and vanilla flavors. Long finish.

Big flavors of dark fruits, olives, and meatiness.. Concentrated yet never heavy.. Only a Bit of heat kept this from getting to the next level..

Dark as night. Scintillating aromatics. Smoked bacon, black olives, blackberry compote, dark chocolate, loads of flowers. Moderate tannins. Light (fresh) on the palate, but still carrying a big sticks.

From magnum!!! Ripe and wild, yet with a restraint that's astonishing, as its tannins are true and its fruit bursting, but this also highlights cool elegance and enviable purity.
