One of the best QPR California wines out there. Black and blue fruits, smoke, meat, olive and a good glug of acidity. Complex? No. Powerful? Nope. Clean Syrah with personality and balance for cheap? Yup. Every day and twice on Sunday at this price. And yeah, it ages well too - a little less exuberant fruit and a little more savory brine and everyone's happy you stuck a few of these in the cellar.

Deep purplish ruby red. Lovely nose that needed a little time to open up with notes of violets, olives, blackfruits, and white pepper. Moderate tannins (6/10) and medium plus bodied. Elegant body with some pizzazz with lots of layers and complexity. Notes of baking spices, olive tapenade, anise, cinnamon, blackberries, and dark minerality. Long and extracted finish, definitely from the whole cluster press. Drink till 2023. (91+)

Red purple, dense in color. Bramble, violet, berry, cherry and red licorice in nose. Strawberry, cherry and licorice in mouth. Good length of flavor with seed tannins on finish

Very floral with notes of white flowers and Honeysuckle mixed with cooked meats and white/black pepper. Very juicy on the palate with dense tannins. This wine still has plenty of room to age more.

This reached new heights after tasting some smoked ribs (green egg style). (Rating reflects wine before pairing)

I keep trying to save these to see what they'll taste like with age. Then I open one and wonder why I would want to do that. The fruit is calming down, but still forward and juicy. QPR killer.

Big jammy blackberry, watermelon seeds, baked plums, chocolate cherries in caramel. Toasty coffee with a splash of pool water. Blackberry gets deep on the palate, chocolate and coffee surface. Mint note, caramel and coconut with a beet edge. California comes in second with Washington boasting a column of acidity and unique earthiness. Good low production effort all in all.

QPR killer. Juicy CA Syrah with bright acidity to keep things moving on the palate. A steal at the price.
