Bedrock Wine Co.
Monte Rosso Vineyard Moon Mountian District Cabernet Sauvignon
The ‘22 Monte Rosso Cab from Bedrock (and seriously old vines) is nearly black, has a beautiful nose of graphite, blackberry and port, and subtle dark fruit, mineral tones, and tannins. Like its predecessors, it is a bit standoffish this young with lots of potential.

May 3rd, 2024The ‘21 Monte Rosso Cab from Bedrock is dusty dark purple with bright edges, has a subtle nose of oak and chocolate, and is very reserved in its youth. Mild tannins, balanced, Time will tell.

Nov 7th, 2023The 2020, released Spring 2022, is inky with bright purple edges, has a closed, high alcohol nose (it’s a sturdy 14.5%), and came out of the bottle tannic and a bit oaky. With air, the spicy dark fruit emerged and it became more balanced. More time in bottle will help and I’m putting one away for at least a decade.

Aug 1st, 2022A very young cab from a very old vineyard, the 2019 Monte Rosso is reserved to austere, with an array of dark fruit, a touch of oak and mild tannins. I’m a big fan of sampling a bottle right out of the gate, but I put the others away for 5-15 years.
