Evangelho Vineyard Heritage Zinfandel Blend
Dark color from rim to core. The slow movement with a swirl indicates the viscosity. Stewed blackberry aromas with an initial dusty earth flavor slowly uncovers more dark stone fruit complexity.
Happy Easter!

Apr 29th, 2016First time with this - surprisingly restrained while still showing glorious Cali fruit. Complexity where you wouldn't expect it. Plays acoustic counterpoint to rich, meaty dishes rather than being the amp cranked to 11.

Apr 18th, 2016Stupid young but after 24hrs it really shows something incredible. MTP has such a deft hand with old vines and this vineyard at 120 yrs old and grown in 30f sand shows something special. Will evolve so much over the next decade.

Apr 17th, 2016Old vine, great body but not overblown where it could be- someone made solid choices- thumbs way up. Wild berries and coffee.

Jan 24th, 20162014: Pucker up, buttercup! Way too early to pronounce anything, it's practically still a barrel sample. Intense youthful fruit, immediately supported by tannins too young to be mellow. Brimming with subtle spices which raised the quandary of what the field blend ratio may be for this year? Will check in again next year.

Nov 12th, 2015When first opened this wine reminds me of my first intro to Zin, young, bright and racey. Great tart fruit with complex nose of pepper, bramble and tar. Can't wait to taste the next bottle.
